Studio FAQ

Clear answers to your technical and administrative questions. We believe in transparency to ensure your creative process remains uninterrupted.

Welcome to the Yahasehonoperations knowledge centre. Whether you are a seasoned professional or recording your first demo, understanding the operational flow of the studio helps in maximising your session time. Below, we have categorised the most common enquiries regarding our Adelaide facility, our engineering standards, and our business terms. For specific queries not covered here, please visit our contact page.

Booking & Reservations

How do I book a session at Yahasehonoperations?

You can request a booking via our online contact form or by emailing [email protected]. Once we receive your enquiry, our team will review the requested dates and the nature of your project. We aim to provide a formal response to all booking enquiries within 24 hours. Once the date is confirmed, we will send a booking agreement and an invoice for the required deposit.

Is a deposit required to secure my date?

Yes, to ensure fair scheduling for all artists, we require a deposit of 25% of the total estimated session cost. This amount is non-refundable but is fully credited toward your final balance. Your booking is only considered confirmed once the deposit has been processed.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that creative schedules can change. You may cancel or reschedule your session without penalty provided the notice is given at least 3 days prior to the scheduled start time. Cancellations made within less than 3 days of the session may result in the forfeiture of the deposit. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full details on cancellations.

Can minors record at the studio?

We welcome young talent; however, for safety and legal reasons, the minimum age for a client to be in the studio unaccompanied by a legal guardian is 16 years. Anyone under this age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the session.

Studio Sessions & Workflow

What should I bring to my recording session?

We provide a full suite of professional equipment, including large-diaphragm condenser microphones and treated acoustic spaces. However, we encourage artists to bring their own specific instruments, custom cables, or preferred headphones if they have a particular preference. We strongly recommend arriving 15 minutes early to settle in, ensuring your paid studio time is spent recording rather than setting up.

How many people can record simultaneously?

Our facility is designed for versatility. We can accommodate up to 6 musicians simultaneously across our live room and vocal booth, managed from the central control room. If you have a larger ensemble, please contact us in advance so we can organise the most efficient tracking layout.

Do you provide engineering services or is it dry hire?

All our sessions include a professional engineer. Depending on the service, you will work with Benjamin Clarke, Samuel Jones, Liam King, or Jack Roberts. Our engineers handle the technical routing, microphone placement, and signal chain to ensure the highest quality capture, allowing you to focus entirely on the performance.

How is the session time calculated?

Time starts at the agreed-upon booking hour. This includes the time spent on soundchecks and setup. We recommend preparing your tracks and arrangements beforehand to make the most of every hour. For full-day bookings, the session is calculated as a flat day rate as specified in our services hub.

Files, Delivery & Post-Production

What files will I receive after the session?

Depending on the service booked, you will receive high-resolution WAV files. For recording sessions, this includes the raw multi-tracks and stems. For mixing and mastering, you will receive the final mastered file in WAV and MP3 formats, with sampling rates and bit depths tailored to your delivery requirements (e.g., 44.1kHz/16-bit for streaming or higher for archival).

How many revisions are included in mixing and mastering?

We strive for perfection in every track. Our mixing and mastering services include up to 3 rounds of revisions. This allows you to listen to the initial mix in different environments and provide consolidated feedback for the engineer to refine the balance and tone.

Do you archive my session files?

Yes, we maintain a secure backup of all project sessions. We store your session archives for 12 months following the completion of the project. We strongly advise all clients to maintain their own redundant backups of all delivered files, as we cannot guarantee retrieval after this period.

How are the final files delivered?

Files are typically delivered via a secure digital download link. For very large multi-track projects, we can coordinate a transfer via a physical drive provided by the client. Detailed information on formats can be found in our Audio Formats Guide.

Payments, Rights & Legal

How are your prices structured regarding tax?

All prices listed on our website are inclusive of GST (10%) for Australian residents. For B2B clients or international entities, we can provide a breakdown of the price excluding GST. All invoices clearly state the tax component as per Australian taxation law.

What are the payment terms for business clients (B2B)?

While individual artists are generally required to settle balances upon completion of the session, we offer B2B payment terms of 14 days for registered companies and agencies, subject to a credit review and signed agreement.

Who owns the rights to the master recording?

The intellectual property rights to the master recording are transferred to the client only after 100% of the total project fee has been paid. Yahasehonoperations claims no ownership of the underlying composition or the performance, but we retain a lien on the master files until full payment is received. For more details, see our Privacy Policy and legal terms.

Who is responsible for the copyrights of the music performed?

The client is solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to record and distribute the works performed at our studio. This includes permissions from songwriters, lyricists, and other performers. By booking a session, you warrant that you hold the necessary licences or permissions.
